Case Summary:
After Hurricane Maria, Steel Services & Supplies, a major supplier of construction materials in Puerto Rico, faced extensive damage to its facility in Toa Baja. The structures suffered from blown metal roof paneling and siding, allowing wind and saltwater intrusion, which corroded much of the stored inventory. The administrative wood structure required demolition, and the facility’s main photovoltaic system was compromised. Despite an initial insurance offer of $387,000, the actual damages were estimated to exceed $3 million. Our firm worked collaboratively with engineers, accountants, and other consultants to advocate for a full recovery.
