Do you need a lawyer or a public adjuster?

If your insurance company underpaid, denied or is dragging out your home or property claim, a public adjuster is the first call. We read your policy, document the damage, write the estimate and negotiate with your insurance company for you. Most claims settle without a lawsuit.

When a claim does need a lawyer, the lawyer needs a well-documented claim to win it. We build that file from day one. We work together with experienced property damage attorneys.

We're public adjusters, not lawyers

Blueprint Claims is a licensed public adjusting firm, not a law firm.

We don’t give legal advice, and you can always talk to your own lawyer.

We handle home and property damage claims with your own insurance company.

No car accidents, injuries or health insurance.

Public adjuster or attorney? Watch this before you call either one

Michael Zebold, senior public adjuster, explains why most property claims start with a public adjuster, and how we work together with experienced property damage attorneys when a claim needs one.

Public adjuster or lawyer: who does what

Both can work for you, not the insurance company. They do different jobs at different points in a claim.

Your insurance claim

Public adjuster

Handles your insurance claim from the first call to the settlement check.

Licensed to represent you, the policyholder, on your insurance claim

Reads your policy and explains what it covers

Inspects and documents all of the damage, including what’s easy to miss

Writes a line-by-line estimate of the real repair cost

Deals with the insurance company and negotiates your settlement

Legal advice and court

Property damage lawyer

Takes over when a claim turns into a legal fight.

Licensed to give legal advice and represent you in court

Sends legal demands and files the lawsuit

Handles bad faith claims, depositions and trial

Needs proof of the damage and its cost to win the case

Call us first. A claim is won on the file: the damage documented and priced right. We build that file, and if your claim ever needs a lawyer, it goes with it.

The contractor's edge

Arthur Camayd, partner, is a licensed public adjuster with the SPPA designation, a licensed general contractor, and holds a degree in architecture.

We know how buildings are designed, how they are built, and how to spot the damage most people miss. On complex claims like fires with structural damage or hidden issues, that construction insight and policy knowledge lets us build a stronger claim and challenge a low offer with real authority.

What to know about a property damage claim

Waiting to see what the insurance company does is how good claims run out of time.

Document it right

A claim is only as strong as its proof

Insurance fights are won on documentation: photos, measurements, a line-by-line estimate and the policy language that covers it. That’s what your insurer, an appraiser or a lawyer will look at. Call us, and we’ll build that file from day one.

Don't take no for an answer

A denial isn't the last word

Insurance companies often deny claims as wear and tear, old damage or not covered. That letter is their side of the story, not the final word. The right proof can change it, but the window to act is short. Call us before you take no for an answer.

Don't wait on them

The clock is already running

We hear it all the time. You know the check is too low, so you call the adjuster one more time and wait. Then months go by, and the deadlines in your policy keep running. Call now, while you still have options.

Call us before you call your insurance company.

Don’t wait to see what they do. Call today and let a licensed public adjuster review your options while you still have them. Your policy review is free.

Why hire your own public adjuster?

Every claim already has an adjuster. The insurance company’s adjuster works for the insurance company. A public adjuster works for you.

A guide through the entire claim process.

Help you understand your rights under the policy.

Navigating through policy endorsements and exclusions.

Document your damages in detail.

Estimating & valuing the TRUE cost of your loss.

Collaboration with experts to support your claim.

Negotiating & settling your claim.

Working with contractors to get you back to pre-loss condition.

Hiring your own adjuster pays for itself.

Questions about lawyers and public adjusters

Answers to the questions callers ask us most.

Are you a law firm?

No. Blueprint Claims is a licensed public adjusting firm, not a law firm, and we don't give legal advice. We handle the claim with your own insurance company for damage to your home or property: we document the damage, write the estimate and negotiate with your insurer. If your claim needs a lawyer, we work together with experienced property damage attorneys. Call us for a free claim review.

Do I need a lawyer or a public adjuster for my property damage claim?

Start with a public adjuster. Most home and property claims are won on the damage and the estimate: what was damaged, why, and what it really costs to fix. That's a public adjuster's job, and it's where most claims start. A lawyer handles legal advice, lawsuits and court. We work together with experienced property damage attorneys. Call us first for a free claim review.

Do you handle car accident or injury claims?

No. We handle property damage claims with your own insurance company, for homes, condos and businesses: water and plumbing leaks, roof, wind and hurricane damage, hail, fire and smoke, mold, and denied or underpaid claims. We don't handle car accidents, injuries or health insurance. If your home or building is damaged, call us for a free review.

When do I actually need a lawyer?

Lawyers handle lawsuits, bad faith claims and claims against someone else's insurance company. We work together with experienced property damage attorneys, and a lawyer's case is built on the claim file, so call us to build it right.

My insurance company denied my claim. Do I need a lawyer?

You can always talk to your own lawyer. Many denials come down to the proof, and the right proof can change the answer. We read the denial letter against your policy and inspect the damage. We work together with experienced property damage attorneys. Call us before you accept a denial.

Can a public adjuster and a lawyer work on the same claim?

Yes. If you hire a lawyer, we work alongside your lawyer, and the lawyer relies on the file we've built: the photos, the measurements and our line-by-line estimate. That's why it pays to get the claim documented right from the start. Call us early, while the damage is still there to document.

Can my claim be settled without going to court?

Most claims are. They settle through negotiation with the insurance company, and many policies also allow appraisal, where each side's appraiser and an umpire settle a dispute over the amount. Some states also offer mediation. The file decides it, and a documented claim with a line-by-line estimate is hard to ignore. Call us to build yours.

What does it cost to hire a public adjuster?

You pay nothing upfront, and if we don't recover money, you owe us nothing. Our fee is a percentage of what we recover for you, set in writing before you sign, and never more than your state's law allows. Call, and we'll walk you through how it works on your claim.

Every claim is different.
